This map was taken from http://www.uky.edu/~ulack/Geo152/Syllabus152Fall05.htm. This map is a mental map. Mental maps come from the users head and portray how the creators view the world. This one is from someone who was drawing a map of their neighborhood. As you can see there are not factual waypoints, rather descriptions that help tell the map's story of the person's neighborhood.
